The Yukon Placer Secretariat has completed all three phases of the consultation process (See Consultation Plan page for more info).
Authorizations are still required for the Alsek and Liard River watersheds. These authorizations will rely on habitat models that are still being developed. Consultation meetings will be scheduled in the communities affected by these authorizations between October 2009 and January 2010.
The Yukon Placer Secretariat has completed all three phases of the consultation process for authorizations related to the Yukon River basin, where the Yukon Placer Authorization was replaced by 15 watershed-based authorizations on April 11, 2008 (See Consultation Plan page for more info).
Phase 3 community consultation meetings began in the Spring of 2008.
